So apparently in the description of the AAC 9" barrels on MidwayUSA is says that supersonic ammo shouldn't be used with the pistol gas system. I was under the impression that subs and supers were reliable in all barrels AAC was producing.
Can someone clear this up and get MidwayUSA to change it if wrong?
Misinformation seems about the only thing that can kill 300 BLK at this point and there seems to be a fair amount of bad info floating around the interwebs.
The Pistol Length Gas Port location makes this barrel suitable for use with Subsonic loads, either Suppressed or Unsuppressed. Supersonic ammunition is not recommended with the short pistol length gas system due to the increased port pressure produced upon firing.

It's true that CMMG doesn't recommend supers in their 16" bbl with pistol gas.
It looks like Midway included some CMMG text in with the AAC product description... PM Robert ("300blk" on this board) and he can probably get Midway squared away.
The AAC barrels- 9" (Pistol gas), 12.5" (Pistol gas), and 16" (carbine gas) all work just fine with factory ammo - subsonic suppressed, subsonic unsuppressed, supersonic suppressed and supersonic unsuppressed. I have personally shot all those ammo/can combos in multiple AAC 9" guns.

I will ask them again to fix this. Yes, they copied and pasted CMMG text into the AAC description. It seems CMMG gassed their guns to shoot their light-weight subsonic ammo. AAC does not have this problem, and it has nothing to do with pistol-length gas in general, even for 16 inch barrels.
