I have an Arcarbine 16" with 1x10 barrel. it shoots 180gr and 190gr hornady great. when I jump to 200 gr it keyholes at 100 yds....use the data from Hornady manual.
Good luck

200 gr is about the most you will get away with. It depends on the shape and length of the bullet. A short or round nose bullet will stabilize easier. The best bullet is the 200gr Lapua subsonic.

Yes - Lapua subsonic 200 bullet will work in 1/10.

The Lapua 200gr subsonic will even work in a 1:12 twist. It all comes down to how the bullet is balanced around its centre of gravity.
Re: heaviest bullet for 1 in 10 twist?
For subsonic or supersonic? Silenced or w/o a silencer?
We have some people getting bullet contact with baffles with a 1:8 with 220 gr bullets others having problems with a certain brand barreled upper in 1:8 with 220 smks
The special Laupa 200 is supposed to be stable in a 1:10 i have no reason to doubt it. Just mke sure if you hand load you are getting the target fps before using your silencer... a few shots on paper may be smart to check for round holes at 25 feet too.
I limit myself to 170 gr rn bullets in my 1:11.25 twist .. Robert has a lot of experience with these bullets i have none.

Re: heaviest bullet for 1 in 10 twist?
Bullet weight is not as important as bullet length and shape which will determine how well it is balanced about its center of gravity. That is why the 200gr Lapua is stable where a lighter bullet may not be.
I have shot 168's in a 1:10 that wouldn't stabilize no matter what I tried.
You will also discover that subsonic flight stability decays with distance. It is important to check for stability at he maximum distance you plan to shoot at.
