Robert, out of curiosity does the 300 AAC Blackout have an advantage over .223/6.8/6.5 in the heating department due to lower volume and faster powder burning? I have noticed that 9mm (which is obviously much less powder volume than even sub loads) can punch out 100 rounds and still be cool enough to touch. I haven't run that much ammo at one time on the 300 BLK, so your input is appreciated.

If so, how does it affect accuracy, barrel life, gas tube/block life, sustained fire, etc.?

I'm going to be putting a 16" .300blk BBL on a spare .308 bolt gun I have and wondered what I could expect out of the 208 A-MAX subsonics form Honraday as far as range goes.
Do you have any personal experience with it?

it shows it retains a lot of it's energy at 200 yards, is this enough for hogs in your opinion?

Thank you for your great list of companies supporting Blackout. We are about to start offering blackout brass converted from military LC 5.56. All we need to start making the brass now is a good case gage. Now I know to look at Pacific Tool from your list. Of course we will also be need a test platform for the new brass. That’s the great thing about being in the brass business. For every new caliber we need a new gun or two. I plan to make good use of all the great info here to select our BLK riffle.

It's been along time since I was this excited about a new round.

I am looking at buying a 300 black out and have been doing a lot of research and it seems that noveske rifle works is one of the best to buy and I was wondering if anyone could shed some more lighten the subject and if you had any other good suggestions? Thanks for your time

Howdy Robert, just a quick note to say THANK YOU for all of the awesome info here ! I am fairly new to BLACK, but am learning to love it pretty quickly ! I am still in the early stages of load testing (just got my chrony) but I am really enjoying this weapon ! The info that has accumulated on the forum is an excellent resource, I have read and learned a LOT here.

Sota Arms Upper, 16", 1:8 stainless, w/muzzle brake/flash hider.
Carbine length gas, YHM lower w/CAA 6 position stock.
Optics: My load testing scope for now... Still thinking about my options for a final optic.
Staying supersonic 'til I get that down, after that who knows ? Maybe a can ? That's the COOLEST thing about this 300 BLACKOUT, the endless possibilities !

hey man looking into 300blk. not trying to be a dick or anything like that. Just an honest question.

Just wondering why you stopped at 7.62x35. Obviously couldn't go to 39 and Wilson is having mag issues with 40mm.

I could be majorly wrong here but it sure seems that 7.62x38 could obviously drive the lighter bullets faster but still be short enough to drive the 220s...maybe the 240s?

Guessing I'm missing something so figured I'd ask ya.

Basically the #s I'm going off of are 7.62x35 = 1.37" and expanding out 3mm gives you 1.49". Then the 220smk is 1.49" I don't have the base to ogive measurement but to get to 2.25-2.26 oal case length you only need to seat the 220 into the case by about .75" and guessing on the 220 you could go deeper...thus even though the 240smk is 1.59" would still work?

Like I said I'm probably missing something. In any case I purchased 3 different 300 blk uppers and will be doing some videos on my youtube channel.

If the case were any longer, then the magazine would bind when loaded with 30 rounds. 35mm is the most powerful supersonic possible that can load 30 rounds with normal magazines.
