Ok so when I first ordered some 300 blkout rounds I got some PNW 147 gr. Now, when I tried loading them in my Pmags or D&H mags with Magpul followers, I could get about 20 in them and then the more I loaded they would just fall out. I haven't tried with the 115gr or 220 gr remingtons yet but I've heard a lot of people with the same problems.
Also, I have heard about people using Emags with great success.
So what are you guys using and if you did have to modify the mags, what did you modify?

I haven't had the situation you described with the several different makes of 30 round mags I've used. The one issue I have experienced was the top round popping out of the mag, when banging the mag into the magwell, with a lot of force. Another reason not to hammer them in. Maybe the issues are related?

Re: Magazines for 300blkout.....
Well when I got home last night I checked my Remington 115 and 220's with the Pmag and D&H mags I have and guess what.....they loaded perfectly. Maybe this was just a problem with the PNW rounds then?
Re: Magazines for 300blkout.....
We developed the ammunition with Remington to not have these problems in existing mags. I have said a bunch of times that the Rem UMC is the best 300 BLK practice ammunition, and this is one reason why.
Re: Magazines for 300blkout.....
on my last outing I ran over 400 rounds of PNW 147 through 4 30 Rd Pmags, 4 20 rd Pmags and whatever the metal mag I got with my Sig P556. have had no issues that you are describing.
Loading either by hand one at a time or with the plastic 5 round speed loader thingy I have, both systems had no issue at all when being loaded by myself, my wife, or my friend that I brought with me for some of the fun. I seriously doubt the issue is the ammunition unless you just got a "fun" batch. check the mags for oil/lubrication on the inside of the feed lips?

I don't have anymore of the 147 gr PNW rounds but plan on ordering some soon. I'll have to try it again when I get them.torinalth wrote:on my last outing I ran over 400 rounds of PNW 147 through 4 30 Rd Pmags, 4 20 rd Pmags and whatever the metal mag I got with my Sig P556. have had no issues that you are describing.

Hell, maybe I imagined all of this

I live in a State overrun by Socialist Yankees so we have a 10 round magazine limit.
Pmags in 20 and 30 round flavors that are blocked to 10 rounds have not worked well for me.
The Lancer L5 AWM 10 rounders work great, since my main use is hog hunting in California.
Lancer 10's will not seat on a closed bolt, so I just load 9.
The Lancer Magazines work flawlessly with Supers running match, green tip, blacktip and umc bullets.
Next time I am in Arizona I plan on testing GI, Pmag and Lancer 30's.

I have family in Kalifornia, where I grew up, and keep trying to convince them to move. It's a hard decision to make, when thinking of moving away from other family members. Years back the Air Force moved me, and I never looked back. Everyone has to live with what ever decisions they make.
Here in Arizona, it's been getting harder to get drawn for the hunts you want, due to the growing population. Still, I highly recommend to everyone, moving out of the highest tax rate state in the Union. Not to mention it being one of the most liberal, anti-gun states.

I think my friend registered a bunch of lowers before some deadline that allows him to use normal mags.Californio wrote:I live in a State overrun by Socialist Yankees so we have a 10 round magazine limit.

I must be lucky, my CA legal 10/20 Pmags have worked without any issues. I also use 10 round "stubby's" (Midwestpx.com) without a hitch. REM 115's and Gunn 130's.Californio wrote: Pmags in 20 and 30 round flavors that are blocked to 10 rounds have not worked well for me.
