Hornady/Hodgdon Superperforamance Powder

Post by smcharchan »

Now that it has been released to the public, who is going to see if it will yield more velocity for supersonic 300 AAC Blackout loads?

I don't have a means of accurately testing pressure, so I don't like experimenting with new powders.

It seems to have done quite a bit for the 30-30, but even if it is safe for use with the 300 BLK it may not be best for semi-auto guns. It might be good for bolt guns though.

The odds of it being the ideal burn rate are pretty low. Unlikely to give more velocity than H110.

It doesn't look to be the magic powder to get good velocities for a 75 to 77 gr 5.56 either. It's only a matter of time until we see what the experimenter's come up with.

I'm watching too.
