A case gauge is just a case gauge. What I want is an ammo gauge:

http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/de ... ber=595577

You can make one to min chamber dimensions. Note that most 'min chamber' reamers are actually min -0.0000 +0.0004.

So you could use that, but it may pass some ammo which is actually above max size. If you want to be very strict, then get a reamer made to a minus dimension. -0.0002 +0.0000 would be nice but if that is too hard, then -0.0004.

SAAMI allows a 308 bullet to be up to 0.3086. As you load ammo longer, the runout can make the cartridge harder to fit into a min chamber. This is why you don't (or I think should not) want a 0.3085 throat - as a lot of ammo, once runout is factored it, will not easily chamber.

So if anyone wants to take on properly making these gauges, that would be cool.

I am thinking I should gauge all of my self defense ammo.

A case gauge might be just a case gauge, but I still want one.

We are slowly starting to get some shipped.
On a side note, A customer asked me where to get a 1/2-28 to 5/8-24 thread protector. I looked into it for him and was baffled at the prices. Here soon we will be offering them, guaranteed for concintricity, for substantially less than most other quality manufacturers. Like all of our products, they will have a lifetime warranty.

Thank you for the update, looking forward to using these. can you tell us if the case gauge will have a step at the cartridge head end indicating minimum and maximum headspace (i.e. a go gauge will sit flush with bottom step and a no-gauge will sit above the top step)?

Thanks, jared

Yes, they will have a step to run your finger over to feel if it is go or no.

Are there any of these available anywhere. I need to get my hands on one of there
full length case gauges. I contacted Wilson and they are "looking into it" which could
mean anything.

Aaron, did you guys get a batch made and I missed it?? or are they still plans in the
works??

Thanks.

Aaron - can you advise if you all are still going to manufacture these? I'd certainly purchase one if you have them for sale.
