Here's a thread on making Whisper brass I think you'll find useful.

Thomas Freeman will convert your once fired .223 for you for 10 cents each prepaid back to you. He does a great job and has been getting them back to me in 10days or so. [email protected]

Hey, thats me... Right now turn time on brass conversion is under 5 days from when I get it until I ship it back to you.

I use a Dillon 1050, Dillon trimmer motor and a modified toolhead. The trimmer runs around 4,000 rpm and it makes a nice clean cut. I have not hooked up my PW power load motor to pull the handle for me, but I think harder and harder about it every day.

I have not annealed any of my own brass (I use Lapua in my bolt gun and Lake City in my ARs) but I recently made a small batch of 300 rimmed. The 300 rimmed is made from 357 Maximum. After forming and polishing, I annealed them. I only annealed them as that is what the customer wanted.

I think annealing 300 Whisper/Blackout is a "Cant hurt, might help" kind of a thing. However, if you do it wrong very bad things will happen.

I anneal my 50 BMG brass every reload and 338 Lapua every 5-6 reloads because they are much easier to resize.

I'm still alittle foggy on weather or not LC 5.56 brass converted to 300 Whisper/Firebass is the same as 300 BLK or not? I have the redding trim die and reloading die sets, but for me it is a tedious 1 at a time process. I'd love to send a bunch off to get processed, but I'd like confirmation the dimensions are the same first. For $0.10 a pop, you can't go wrong!

Thanks,

Just got my brass back from Thomas Freeman. Top notch!!!

I found him through this thread and mailed him 600 pieces. $60 later, I got my brass back and it looks outstanding! Can't wait to start loading it all.

Thanks for passing on the contact info!!! I was getting ready to spend a lot more before I found him here. I'd recommend him to everybody. Hell of a deal.

How long can you run the trimmer? Does it get too hot after a while or can you run it for hours at a time?
