300 blkout AR barrel manufacturers

Post by John A. »

Besides Noveske, who else is planning to make barrels for the 300 blackout for AR's?

I assume remington, but probably wouldn't be able to get components from them to build your own.

Are these going to use 5.56 bolts, or 7.62x39 or 6.5 or 6.8 or what?

Will the subsonic ammo remain subsonic from the 16 inch barrels? Or is that reserved for the short barrels?

What barrel twist is recommended?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'd like to make a decent deer getter AR that I can play with my suppressor when I'm not hunting with it. And I need all the info I can get.

The 300 AAC BLACKOUT uses the .223/5.56 bolt.

Subsonic ammunition will remain subsonic in a 16 inch barrel.

Twist rate is 1/8 inch for subsonic.

AAC plans to sell component barrels but will meet the initial demand with complete uppers.

I was planning on using my cyclone on a 9 inch upper for awhile until I save up for the new 762. Will the 9 inch 300 BLK upper be hard on a suppressor without a brakeout? Thanks

Shouldn't be hard on it at all.
It is a much lower pressure cartridge than 5.56 or 7.62.
The load on the suppressor will be more like a magnum pistol cartridge than a high power rifle.

Are you going to put them up on your website like the 700 barrels or do we have to call to order?
