I only mention it because a supersonic 300 Blackout should do the same thing.

He says it's chambered 300 whisper (second comment down). Would AAC BLK supers be similar?

RUAG 300 Whisper(R) ammo works in 300 AAC BLACKOUT uppers.

I love all the "nice shot" comments. It was 14 yards! He could have just aimed down the rail. Though the mechanical offset on that scope was pretty killer.

I'm very intrigued by the BLACKOUT project and I've seen this statement several times in different places now and I have a question that may have been answered somewhere else but I can't find the answer.

I'm not a gunsmith and I don't handload so I have zilch of my own knowledge to draw on.

Correct me if I'm wrong but based on what I can find the RAUG 300 Whisper® case is 1-2mm shorter than the BLACKOUT case which makes me ask the following questions.

Why does this 1-2mm difference not cause a problem when loading Whisper® in a BLACKOUT chamber? How much of a case length difference does it take to matter and begin causing problems?

There are two things to consider. One is the headspace. That is at most 0.0004" apart.

Then there is case-mouth interference to look at. There is none.

The RUAG case can be up to about 0.15mm / 0.006" longer than the 300 AAC BLACKOUT. There is still about 0.004" room in the 300 AAC BLACKOUT chamber - even if the RUAG was at the very max length.

Good to know, thanks for the info Robert.

The problems from a shorter case in a longer chamber seemed a bit more obvious and somewhat benign to me, ejection problems, light primer strikes.

Aside from unsupported case ka-booms from extreme differences I couldn't think of any issues with a marginally longer case.

The case does not headspace on the case mouth so it would have no effect on primer strikes. You are thinking of 40 S&W.
