I was looking for a scope with a IPHY scale one quadrant something like the hous ranging scale. not a drangough type thou.
many options out there but none quite right for me.
The viper vortex looks nice too thou from the interweb reports.
I can't see a FFP working as well as a SPF.
Mainly cos of the reticle be too thin for close up nasty stuff situations and if it was be too fat out far.
I shoot long range .22lr ..well only out to a couple of hundred yards for fun.
My sub loads cost the same to make up and if I'm too lazy I just grab the .22 and head for the range.
For me ranging with lower powers are well just that. ...IF the critters would stand there long enough for me to measure them then walk back then things would be different.
Clay birds and coke cans seem to be all full grown size ..... the ones I've seen anyway.
I use to range with the cross hairs and how much they covered the eyes of rabbits years ago...
Seem to be pretty consistent size wise.

Oops forgot to ask.
Does any one know of mounts I could use.
My height above the weaver style mount base needs to be 0.3467" minimum and then clearance.
With 30mm rings I can't find any between 0.250 and" 0.84".
My interweb skills is lacking thou I keep trying. (the wife says I'm trying too at times)

No, I am waiting for the ammo types to mature before picking the drop table.

Re: 300 BLACKOUT scope poll
I have a Vortex Razor HD 1-4x, and it is a slick scope. Their lower end scopes are made very well too, and they are working on some 300 BLK specific optics as of now. They may have one at the NRA convention.

Re: 300 BLACKOUT scope poll
Would a Leupold shotgun scope make sense for "budget" 300 Blackout use? Even with their shorter yardage parallax setting perhaps they would be a good enough match for 300blk ranges.
I hear the Leupold custom shop will do custom reticles in them as well. I overheard a conversation about using a LEUPOLD VX-I 1-4x20 with a custom reticle for 3-gun matches.

Re: 300 BLACKOUT scope poll
Just ordered a 300 BLK M3 turret for my 3-10 Leupold Mark 4 LR/T from Leupold.
Very interested to see how well it matches.
Will post results when I have them.
