The 1-3x is the CQ/T and heavier than the 1.5-5x.

Small is the 1x Prismatic.

Something like the Elcan SpecterDR would be nice, but pricey. I dont know if you can get BDC dials or reticuls for it though.

Does anyone know if you can use an Aimpoint 3x magnifier with the prismatic?

That base seems good, if it had a custom cam.

Bullseye_Josh wrote:What about the Trijicon TR24? I believe it's a FFP reticle. Nice and clear on 1X, Fiber Optic and tritium, but also, a reticle if for some reason neither was available or under a washout scenario. Variable power from 1 to 4. BDC option in that optic for 300AAC would be a definite purchase for me.

THIS.

I'd be very interested if Trijicon were willing to do a custom BDC reticle in their 1-4x or 1.25-4x line.

I think that I might be sold on the Horus Blackbird 1.5-8x24 Illuminated

All that and priced at $960, that is a tough to beat.
My initial choice was the Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 Front Focal Riflescope with a Delta Point mounted on top, but the Horus is looking to be a much better fit considering how much drop this cartridge has.

I have a HORUS Hawk that I have been using for a while. It is definately quality glass, probably not as good as Premier, USO, Nightforce. But I would say its a great deal.

I would like to see someone get all of these scopes and do some really good testing on a shake table, light transmission testing, fogging tests, zero hold, etc. I think the Horus scopes would fare pretty well.

They also have an excellet reticle, you can print up range cards for every load and just refer to them after a zero. Its a really quick, efficient system. The reticles do look a little busy, but it didnt bother me. If they had a true 1x to 8x like the blackbird, I would absolutely have it on my .308

The Horus scopes have a one major flaw.
They only carry a one year warranty and their customer service is said to be non existent.

FWIW,
The Horus scopes are rumored to be made by the same company that makes the Nikon rifle scopes.
