A Few More Questions

I've been shopping for an AR-10 to replace my HK-91 as a "grab-and-go" .308
Of course I'll want it suppressed as well. So, there's another 3 grand gone by the time I'm done, and we know what ammo is like.

I was also thinking about a Remington 700 in .308 as well for reaching out a bit.

Now, along comes the 300 BLK and turns my head. I like the size, and the sub/super aspect, but how does it compare to .308? Trajectory? Terminal velocity? Range?

While I like to try long-range shooting now and then, the truth is I suspect virtually all of my future shooting will be well inside 2-300 yards, whether for fun or EOTW.

Why should I get the 300 BLK instead of the AR-10? Are their roles so different that I'll need both anyway? (please say yes, please say yes)

308 is a full power cartridge. 300 BLK is an intermedia cartridge, like 7.62x39. It is not a 1000 yard cartridge like 308.

I use 300 BLK for home defense. Lighter, higher mag capacity, less blast, enough power due to the high efficiency.

Any tests on terminal ballistics for the round yet? Either ballistics gel or against different levels of body armor?
