Well, it's a noble effort to put out some ammo and try to standardize it.

It's a pretty kickass sounding caliber. Too bad the original designer couldn't take it to the level it should be at.

Im guessing the 9" wont work with the SCAR-H with the KAC rail. If I were to get a 16" and cut it down to the appropriate length, could I just enlargen the gas port with a reamer until it worked?

theoretically yes. just leave 2.5" of exposed barrel for your mount and go to town.

Robert's explanation of the difference from another site:

300 Whisper(R) can do the same thing. The problem is that I would say most load data for 300 Whisper is not very compatible with the AR15 for various reasons:

1. OAL too long.
2. Bullet won't feed well in an AR.
3. Powders inappropriate for the AR gas system.

Reloading dies are available from Forster.

So,it's a 300 Whisper with different powder and a slightly shorter OAL to resolve the feeding issues?

Remington ammo is all under 2.1 inches OAL for more reliable AR feeding. Read the owner's manual for suggesting OAL for each bullet.

The spec submitted to SAAMI allows for up to 2.26 OAL, to be safe in case someone loaded to full AR15 magazine length or used pre-existing ammo.

If you are loading for an AR, I suggest you use the carefully calculated OALs in the PDF. You may not notice a problem, but we shot thousands of rounds. That was one of the 300 Whisper(R) problems that hurt its reputation with people who have tried it in the past.

Something I don't understand in the 300-BLK.pdf file.

http://www.300aacblackout.com/resources/300-BLK.pdf

The following suppression levels are listed. Is this on different guns/rounds or all on a 300BLK upper?
125.0 dB Titan-QD
126.2 dB 762-SDN-6
128.9 dB 300-SD
133.7 dB 762-SD

I believe all on the same upper.

Same ammo, same upper, metered same time. That is why we picked the 762-SDN-6 design as the official silencer.

Also I see someone on AR15 suggesting a 9mm aluminum silencer for 300 BLK.

I recommend the 762-SDN-6, including for subsonic ammo.

Does the 762SD beat the N6 when used with 7.62x51?
