Travis- look at the 300aacblackout.com one of the first pics shows the cartidges next to an M855. If you accidentally load a 5.56, the shoulder of the case will stop the closing bolt before it's seated.tmix wrote:To play the devil's advocate.....
After reading the Military Times article, I must say I'm impressed with the time and effort that went into this project.
I think this was all very well thought out and don't see any issues with the platform, except for one. (probably a non-issue.)
What happens if a magazine of standard M855 is loaded into the weapon while wearing the 300 Blackout upper?
Will M855 drop further into the chamber and keep the firing pin from contacting the primer?
Without seeing the cartridge dimensions, I can't make a guess.

Yes, it is 308 rated. It is on the spec sheet.
Re: Military Times
Thanks Rob. I didn't see that there was a second page with a spec sheet for the can.silencertalk wrote:Yes, it is 308 rated. It is on the spec sheet.
I need one of those, I just need to know availability before I place my order with my dealer.

Re: Military Times
Why no adjustable gas system?
Why DI when the "god like" Remington upper is a "godlike" upper / Full of GP win!?
TIA.

Because they can just make barrels for existing uppers and pump these out now.
If they offer it godly, I'd pay the high price. But y'now...

Re: Military Times
No adjustable gas because we designed the ammo to work with one gas setting. The hope is that since Remington ammo will be the predominate ammo in the marketplace, other rifle companies will also design their gas systems around Remington ammo. And then other ammo companies should try to match the gas port pressure of the Remington ammo.
