Longest 300BO barrel?
I'm talking extreme ends of the spectrum. My 300BO pistol is only 7.5" but I also have it's cousin in a 16" 300HAM'R. What I'd like to find is the longest AR barrel available in 300BO that I can rechamber to 300HAM'R (I have the reamer). I'm looking for 22"-26".
Re: Longest 300BO barrel?
Not likely to find one and if you did the twist rate would not be optimal, too fast for the bullets you would likely use.
I would call Xcaliber and have them make what you want.

300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.

Excalibur makes excellent barrels

Re: Longest 300BO barrel?
My carbine (BO) is 18" 1:10. Don't think anything longer will provide an improvement. vamx 110 runs 2100 but not pushing it. You do have more powder space but really slow powder needed. My 24" 308 gives an improvement over carbine but really slow powder (varget or slower) and much more powder space. When pressure drops, barrel friction slows it.

2100 fpr a 110g in a 18". Sure aint "pushing it"!!!!
My 300MP/135FTX loads are 2050ish from a 16" Bolt gun!!!
Most of my 110 loads hover at 2400 fps. All with accuracy and no pressure signs.
Not ridiculing!! If your happy and gettin accuracy thats awesome!
My buddy hates hates load development. His 300 BO hunting load is 2050/125 sst cause it shoots. His 308 load is a 150/2480fps.
Last week he was spotting me shooting my Savage 24V 30/30-20g @ 200 yards. The crono read 2517 average. He said"How is this 30/30 going faster then my 308 with same 150g bullet???" I laughed and said it must be my 24" barrel...

Re: Longest 300BO barrel?
That's the beauty of handloading. We all get to achieve what we want with it. If someone wants to see big numbers in the chrono' that's available, and if someone doesn't it's there for them as well.
Re: Longest 300BO barrel?
The difference between an 18 & 24" barrels with factory Barnes 110 ammo is just over 150 fps. about 2570 fps in the 24".
With 110 Vmax handloads in a 24" bolt action, 2800 fps is not out of the question.
People without experience should not speculate
