WFT needs adjustment for newly formed brass

Post by AR-300 »

Using WFT set up for already fire formed brass, works great.
Then I chopped a lot of LC, formed and trimmed with WFT and it is too long.
I guess because the trimmer indexes on the shoulder, and formed shoulder sits differently, that length is affected.

Don't adjust the trimmer if it came out longer after forming in the press. Wait until it is shot at least once as a super, then formed again. The case generally shrinks as it fills out in diameter and the shoulder tends to move forward so you will have less neck.

If you trim to length before fire forming it will probably be shorter than your other cases.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
