With Lancer L5AWM, you can get 10, 20 or30-round 300 Blackout magazines, I think the Magpul was offering only 30.

For identification, I only use the Lancer magazines with 300 Blackout. The Lancers look and feel unlike any other magazine, and I use clear (versus opaque) so I can see the rounds. One more safety aspect to help keep a 300BLK out of a 5.56 weapon.

Lancer L5AWM 5.56 Mags work great in the 300BLK, so I’m assuming their 300 Blackout magazines are as good or better.

They also work well for the 458 Socom, all I use are Lancers.

I will let you know this weekend. I just received my L5AWM in 300blk. I plan on running the Magpul/D&H/L5AWM all side by side in my pistol build. The regular 5.56 Lancer L5AWMs worked great with my 16" carbine gassed rifle.

Sent Email to Lancer today with the following:

Today I received six AWM 300 Blackout 20-round magazines in Black Opaque. All of the magazines are dated 1/18, three have “1” above the date and three have “2” above the date. All six magazines do not drop free when empty from
my Anderson Lower (with integral trigger guard). My 5.56 AWM magazines (20 and 30 rounders) do drop free
from the same Lower Receiver, full and empty.

Is it normal that the AWM 300 Blackout 20-round magazines in Black Opaque do not drop free?

That’s a bummer.

I just tried empty clear L5AWM 10-round and 20-round 5.56 magazines and they’re still dropping clear,

I only use the Lancer translucents for 300 Blackout, so I haven’t tried the the opaque ones.

Can you tell where they’re hanging up?

I use the opaque ones all the time in my blackout and 458 Socom and they all drop free, they are a couple of years old.

10Driver: seems to be the metal feed lips stop the mag moving immediately after pushing the button

batman4706: are you using Lancer 5.56 or 300 Blackout mags ?

7/21/18 Update

Did more testing. Only two of the six fully hang-up in my 300 AAC Blackout Andersen lower, the other four fall free when the Lower Receiver is vertical, but slow at a 45 degree angle (normal reload position). The two non-drop free magazines also hang up in a Colt Lower Receiver – the gold standard. In addition, the two offenders require a bit more force to insert into the magazine well. Did a bunch of measuring of the magazines – could not draw any conclusions.

I'm using the standard 5.556 ones.

I haven't had any issues with mine. New or Old. I just tested them all my guns. The new Lancers seemed to be the smoothest of the lot followed by the Magpul.
