Thanks for the work(fun) with this bullet gentlemen. Sounds like it will be my "go to" heavy weight hunting bullet.
Between these and the 110gr TAC-X the 300BLK will be an excellent hunter. My guns are a bolt and a single shot so reloading for the BO is super easy.
Remember,IMO when figuring the proper trajectories, the true vels are much more important than the true B.C.
If you use a number within about .050 or so,your POI will be about your bore diameter. And most shooters cannot even "hold" that precise. ---- pruhdlr

I posted my test results in the handloading section, but will paste them, also.
Sorry, no pictures, but will get some next round.

I, also, got a chance to test out some 150 gr Gold Dots, in between the thunderstorms and downpours.
Anyway, here are my results....
10 test loads...
5 rounds each of H110 at 15.7gr, 16.2gr, 16.7gr, 17.2gr, and 17.7gr.
then, 5 rounds each of CFE BLK at 19.5gr, 20.0gr, 20.5gr, 21.0gr, and 21.5gr.

Average velocities for each group taken with a magnetospeed V3 on a 16" Ruger American rifle are as follows...I used Federal 205 primers and Remington once fired cases, trimmed to 1.360, at a OAL of 2.235.

H110
15.7gr 1828fps
16.2gr 1898fps
16.7gr 1888fps (not sure what happened here, but those were the numbers)
17.2gr 1935fps
17.7gr 1974fps

CFE BLK
19.5gr 1869fps
20.0gr 1899fps
20.5gr 1913fps
21.0gr 1922fps
21.5gr 1931fps

While I am not a "precision" shooter, I can shoot sub moa with the right loads and rifle.
The H110 was disappointing...each group had 1 obvious flyer, so, accuracy is listed as 5 shots and then 4 shots when there was an obvious flyer.
These were shot at 100 yds.

15.7 3.4/1.6 moa
16.2 2.1/1.3 moa
16.7 3.1/1.3 moa
17.2 2.0/1.9 moa with a 3 shot group of .4moa
17.7 2.8/1.4 moa

The CFE BLK was much more consistant.

19.5 1.5/.9 moa with a 3 shot group of .5moa
20.0 1.6/1.0 moa
20.5 2.0/.85 moa
21.0 1.6/1.1 moa with a 3 shot group of .7 moa
21.5 1.5/.85 moa

I am going to load these again and run them again just to see how they compare, but that will be in a couple of weeks.
I may have been on the losing side, but, I'm not convinced it was the wrong side.

The problem is Speer’s published BC is something like .460. I initially ran loads at the very top end of their data and based on drops at 200 it was probably closer to .350. Then yesterday I used the numbers gathered at 200 to go from 50 to 100 at a lower velocity and hit an inch high. Doesn’t sound like much but that’s a full MOA error.

It will work out in time, two measured range sessions at two different speeds, shooting two different directions probably qualifies for garbage data in. But it’s all I got so far.

Rb288, what do those numbers mean?

In the one highlighted I see grains and group size but what is the 3.4?

Something that will help with the H110 is get the bullet closer to the powder. It throws flyers until you get closer to 100% density. You’re nearing max load according to Speer but you’re about .050” longer in COL. Watch for pressure signs, but I’d possibly add another .2 grains then start working the bullet down till the groups tightened up.

CFE same thing. It seems to work best compressed. I don’t think you’re near there yet.

No reason for either of those loads not to be sub MOA.

Sorry for the confusion, Dellet.
Those numbers are the measured "accuracy" of in moa for the listed loads.
For example, H110 15.7gr. 3.4moa for the full 5 shot group/ 1.6moa for the group, removing 1 obvious flyer.
H110 17.2gr. 2.0moa for 5 shot group/ 1.9moa with flyer removed and a 3shot group of .4moa.
CFE BLK 19.5gr 1.5moa/.9moa with a 3 shot group of .5moa.

So, for a given load, you are looking at accuracy of a 5 shot group/the 5 shot group with 1 flyer removed, and a note of a 3 shot partial group, within the 5 shot group, if it was obviously better.

I hope that makes it clearer.
Sorry for the confusion.

BTW, I used the Hornady OAL gauge to measure the chamber on the Ruger and got an OAL of 2.276 for that rifle, with that bullet.
So I have some space to work with.
I was a little short of max on both so I'll push them a little bit more on the next loads.
Also, no pressure indications at all on any of those loads, but will be looking out on the next ones.
I may have been on the losing side, but, I'm not convinced it was the wrong side.

I thought that might be the case on the numbers for your targets. Unless you know you messed up the shot, don’t discount flyers because it will happen again. Just note it and look at the change you made when it disappears.

I’m really anal about case fill ratios. For H110 if I cant get 100% I probably won’t use it. So for example with this bullet 17.5 grains puts the COL at 2.025”. That may be too short for decent accuracy. So it would not be my first choice for this bullet.

CFE works extremely well with compression and it a low pressure powder. I would load that the same I did with 1680 or Shooters World that I did the first load with. For a bolt gun it would be .005” short of mag length. That will be 23 grains or so. 22 grains with slight compression would be 2.220”.

I think if you worked up to 22.5 at your length of 2.235 you would get rid of your flyers and get close to MOA and just need some tweaking.

This bullet seems really forgiving to jump so I would pay more attention to what the powder likes to get a low ES and tune from there.

Look forward to some better results.

Thanks for the advice.
I think these next loads will be at 2.25 oal and push the powder load up a bit to 21.5, 22.0, 22.5, and maybe 23.0, with CFE.
That will get me better compression.
Just need to watch for pressure issues.

More later.

Finally had a chance to get to the range last week and try these out from my 16" AAC pistol-length-gas barrel.
I tried Alliant 300-MP (17.2-19.0 grains) and was getting ejecter swipes on most of the brass, even the start loads. Accuracy was 3-4" groups at 200 yards.
Didn't have time to hang the Magnetospeed due to storms rolling in.

Think I'll be sticking with 300-MP for 110 and 125 grainers and I'll try Accurate 1680 and 5744 with these 150 grain Speer.

Just noticed Midway SLASHED the price to $13.99 to be more in line with the $14 at Midsouth.

I was finally able to get out and velocity test some more 150gr Gold Dot loads with CFE BLK.

Here are the results.......4 shot groups.

21.0gr....
1945 hi
1935 lo
1940 avg.
4.2 SD

21.5gr...
1992 hi
1968 lo
1982 avg
10.8 SD

22.0gr...
2052 hi
1995 lo
2020 avg
21.7 SD

22.5gr...
2076 hi
2045 lo
2051 avg
11.8 SD

23.0gr...
2119 hi
2078 lo
2100 avg
20.5 SD

I was not shooting for accuracy, just velocity.
So, now I will start loading for consistency and accuracy, and see how these do.

Edit..... I should add these were shot out of my RARR with a 16" barrel.
I may have been on the losing side, but, I'm not convinced it was the wrong side.
