They are Speer P/N 308150BLKGDB. Note the "BLK" in the part number.

Threw together some loads yesterday using formed Winchester brass, CCI Sm Rifle primers, and win296 powder. All were seated to 2.175". Used AR15 16" barrel and shot at 50 yards.

17.3 gr Win296 averaged 1950 fps, 28 SD, .7" at 50 yards
17.8 gr Win296 averaged 1980 fps, 11 SD, .9" at 50 yards

While the groups were ok, I think I'd like to get more velocity. Any suggestions? I used Win296 because it was really all I had on hand and it's been great for 110-125 gr bullets. Wanting to get a good load and test it out on some pigs.

I've had good luck with Shooters World Blackout (Lovex D-063.2) My current load is 2170 from a 16". Still working up an 11.5"; looks like it's going to be over 2050 fps. Both of those are with a suppressor which adds ~30 fps.

How much SW are you using?

Please post your results with this bullet when you kill a hog. Am contemplating this bullet for my 16 inch 300BO. Thanks.

I'd rather not say. I don't want anyone to do something stupid, like use my load data. (Actually, it's 22.4 grains. But please do your own workup.)

That said, I do believe you can get max velocity with this bullet using this powder. Or...possibly....Shooters World SOCOM powder. I haven't tried it (yet), but they market it as being superior with the 150 grain bullet in the BLK. Their SOCOM data is 2158 fps with 21 grains, using the 150 gr Hornady FMJBT.

Don't be afraid to move the bullet out and add powder, but take it slow and small. You can push 296 hard, but hen it hits max, it comes on fast and high. Cratered primer to blown primer in .2 grains or less.

100 yards, 2 for sighters then one for score

18.5 grains 11FS
2.095" COL
CCI#41
Norma brass
8" AR 1/5 twist
1890 fps

Same load from a 12" Model 7, 2050 FPS

300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
