I do not have actual data for n120 and the 150 Gold Dot.

The easiest comparable load is
18.5 N120
155.5 Berger full bore
2.245” COL
18” barrel
1900 fps.
Trim length 1.360”
Case capacity 24.1

See how that plays out

Tried grt with Lee 150 cast, n110 & n120. Seems about right. I see SW socom is recommended for supers in BO. How did you get non metric readout? Barrel length is a editable variable, forget the name, not barrel length.

It only has generic D063, so maybe that’s the problem.
LOL. QL shows it over 80K pressure, and a velocity just over 2300 fps. It's also listed as D063, not -02.
I shoot this load in a bolt action with no signs of pressure at around 2170 fps.

The other things to consider are that the Gold dot is a coated bullet, I believe HBN. This does two things, It will drop peak pressure, possibly as much as 4-5K. The drop in pressure causes a drop in velocity.

Making sure the water weight is a correct input can also change pressure dramatically on hot loads.

When I put a load together at the top end, I grab 5-10 new cases, then load and shoot them until the primers fall out. Less than 5 times, the load is too hot. Too much stretch in the case head. Proof loads are 73,000 psi. They generally wont go 5 shots.

I’m using 24.1 grains of water. That’s measured in a converted LC trimed to 1.358”. I messed with the bullet “coating” but abandoned it because I thought the tool would think it was powder coated, and that seems like it would be worse than the STD jacketed type. I’ll try some other settings for the bullet and if it makes a difference.

IDK, if QL shows the settings for D063, but this is what's in GRTools

Here's what an estimated 120K from QL looks like in an AR

It does, but I'm not going to pretend to know what it all means. The density, specific heat, etc. are all nearly identical once you convert units. The graph (which QL calls vivacity) looks similar to the measured values in your graph.

QL will give you a basic load ladder and also highs and lows predicted for lot to lot variation of +/- 10%. What shows up in the box is in the middle. Here is an example randomly pulled of the web. Does GRT have this? If so what are the numbers?

You also might have better luck using 1680 in the model instead of Do63, since you do not know the actual version. 63.01 is close to N120 and Relaoder 7 and I think sold as SOCOM.

If I run out of things to do this weekend I might run all four powders, 1680 vs Shooters World and N120 vs 63.01

I don’t think it has anything for lot variations, at least I haven’t seen anything.

The “b factor” is a mystery and may be part of the problem. The Combustion Coefficient seems to have the greatest effect. If I bring it down to 0.8 I get reasonable numbers.

Also, I don’t have the data for 1680. It comes with Lovex, Maxam, Norma, ReloadSwiss, Rottweil and VV.
