Re: I got a new press!!
You have bags of zombie greens there on the left, not to hijack, but how are those working for you? I'm getting some muzzle leading with them, but mine are O-blah-blah panic era, so maybe the QC wasn't up to par. I had to alox them.

Re: Trimming 556 cases
Same here, mine all come out cut at an angle, more than .003 for sure. Trimming will bring them back to square. Chamfer before and after you trim, that HF saw leaves a lot of mooshed up metal in the neck.

Re: Handloading, what do I need to get started?
You might want to cut your teeth on a straight wall pistol cartridge like 38 or 45 or something. Very simple way to learn before you move onto bottlenecks and headspacing and trimming and forming and such. Your best bet would be to find a local mentor, or even just take a class like Sportman's offer...

Re: Thoughts on PSA uppers
So long as they don't have to be relied on to install an FSB, PSA uppers are usually pretty good. 1:8 could limit your heavy projectiles though, might want to poke around the forum a bit and see if that'll work if you plan on shooting 220s and such.
Re: quick ?
I've got 16s on Car and Mid length gas, an 18 on rifle gas, all running 6 pos stocks, H - H2 buffers, they all run. 20" on rifle gas will be a soft shooter, that's for sure.

Re: I got a new press!!
Still up in the air on the Summit, but I did pick up Hornady's new Iron Press today. Cabelas was running a door buster with the auto priming assembly included for 220. It's humongous, I dropped it off the shelf when I found the last one, 26lbs of press alone. Haven't mounted it up, but I like how it...

Re: If I make even less sense in the next few days - I'm on drugs
So what you're saying is, no dice on the nurses? Good luck man, bad knees are the devil, I just got my left one working again like two days ago, was able to ride some powder yesterday, but I've been one limping around mofo since the summer when I messed it up again...bowling...at a kids birthday par...

Re: Hodgdon CFEBLK Powder
I'll run a freshly cleaned bolt that wet, but I just dab some grease on the carrier at contact points. That is pretty messy, though, like 1680 messy. I don't think the gas system is doing that.
