Re: 175gr Sub X
What is the difference (other than weight) between this and the 190?

Re: Question re Hornady 135FTX and MonoFlex 140
Sorry for the delayed response. I did not have success with the FTX and have shelved them for now. The Speer 150s are the Hot-Cor, I have not been able to find any of the GDs. I was curious about expansion as well so bound a stack of wet newspaper 18" thick and created a makeshift bullet trap b...

Re: Scope Recticle
FWIW the Vortex EBR-1 reticle is very useful without being overly complicated and comes in very handy 2.5-10x scopes.

Re: 170gr Lee FN GC
Tried 2 more loads, 15 and 16grs of CFEBLK. Accuracy trailed at higher velocities but was still in the 1.5 MOA range at 100.
Biggest issue is that these bullest flat will not feed from the Savage mag.
Going to try the .312 160gr and see how it does.

Re: 170gr Lee FN GC
Finally got a quick trip to the range. Set up at 50 and shot one round with a known load to check zero then four with the 170 cast: https://i.postimg.cc/R6JhMqKz/20220617-151412.jpg Not a match winner but off to a good start so moved to 100, dialed in a gues on elevation and fired four more: https:/...

170gr Lee FN GC
Just picked up a Lee 170gr FN GC for the 300 BO 1:7 bolt action. Looking for accuracy, hoping for 2 MOA out to 200. With conventional and/or TL seems as though 1600-1700 fps could be realistic. Have CFEBLK, IMR4227, LILGUN and H110- CFEBLK with 150gr Speers has met accuracy goals. Thoughts/suggestio...

Re: Question re Hornady 135FTX and MonoFlex 140
H110 would prob get some higher numbers but I don't like how sensative it is so try not to use it for supers. Plan for now is to keep the 150 Speer load as a default super, hope to find a 1500-1600fps plinker load with the cast 170s and then look at subs. I have some sub-x 190s and obviously looking...

Re: Question re Hornady 135FTX and MonoFlex 140
Thanks dellet. Accuracy with the 135s wasn't really any better than the 150s and the velocity wasn't there even with compressed loads. I'm seeing 1950 with the 150s and only got to 2020 with the 135s. After putting the numbers through a ballistics calculator it looks like the 150s make more sense so...
