Re: bullet manufacturers: heavy plated .308 caliber bullet

switch to Hornady 225's and you will be down around .36 per pill

failing that, if you want to go cheaper I think your going to have to cast them yourself... of course they wont be plated, but I dont really see any need to shoot plated at sub velocities anyway.

I think I have some IMR 4198 to try but I know I dont have any A1680 or VV110. Might have to pick up a pound of each to play with if the Unique doesnt give good...

Re: 300 AAC BLACKOUT FAQ

you could add a brief summary of the history behind the 300 Whisper/221/BLK/BLK just to give new folks some background regarding the original concept and how it has evolved over the years. Perhaps touch on the different firearm platforms that are currently being chambered for the round. .ie AR, Bolt...

Re: 30-30 bullets for hunting?

well, you have some options... expensive custom bullets as mentioned previously (about $1 each plus shipping) or you can get into the bullet casting game and make them out of what ever alloy you want, thereby tailoring your expansion to your needs. of course if you are only going to be casting for o...

yeah, bolt gun. The zombies in AK are really slow due to the cold, and fast follow up shots are not needed...

Re: SI 300 BLKOUT Barrel

Agreed… “Match Grade” as in industry term is useless. And as you point out, since there isn’t any established criteria I guy like me can only go on the manufactures reported dimensional tolerance, direct personal observation, and of course internet/forum hearsay… Although I will say that i...

I will give it a try (RL #7) and post back with info on case volume used.

Thanks for all the info!
