Re: recommendations for having a barrel melonited
Melonite makes stainless steel less corrosion resistant than before. That is why Glock uses carbon steel, and S&W had rust problem with their Melonite slides.

Re: Help Andrew out if you can:
For sure - I didn't read what the book said about Jesse, but it my mind, the book didn't do Jesse any harm at all that would not be corrected by him just going on TV and saying it didn't happen. And what if someone did punch him? Big deal. Suing a widow will turn off 100x as many people.

Re: Help Andrew out if you can:
Fireclean must be taking marketing tips from Jesse Ventura. Can't ruin your own name faster for the wrong reasons. That is an almost perfect analogy. There is one difference - Jesse was actually right. He correctly won the lawsuit - but it just looked bad. FireClean does not appear to be legally or...

Re: Help Andrew out if you can:
The lesson learned here is if you are trying to undermine and destroy a business use words in your articles that will save you in court like "it looks like" "as far as I know" He did use those kinds of words. Exact words: "I did not – and still do not – believe that FireCle...

What I loved about Andrew's tests are that they are not the typical "send me free stuff and I will write a good review." It is just what he believes to be the actual truth. He gave a poor review to BattleComp also: http://www.vuurwapenblog.com/general-opinion/lies-errors-and-omissions/the-...

Re: Help Andrew out if you can:
On day one of this controversy they should have just said "No, we are not literally bottling Crisco. FireClean is a blend of vegetable oils that has been formulated to not dry up like ordinary cooking oil." That would have been the end of it. I am not sure what FireClean hopes to accomplis...

He doesn't run his blog for money, does great work, and so it sucks he is being (I think unfairly) sued.

0.125 and even 0.109 is too large for a standard buffer with supersonic ammunition.

Re: Hackathorn: 300BLK Fades, Joins 6.8
Someone should tell him that Winchester introduced 300 BLK ammo two months ago at the Shot Show, and it is used by several branches of the military, which is not the case with 6.8. If I were designing a 6.8 rifle, I would specify a SPCII chamber, but I have a Barrett 6.8, and don't mind at all that ...

Re: Twist rate - why 1:8 still around
I had no idea they had color photography in the 1700's. What is amazing is that the Wizard of Oz is beautiful color from 1939, and then we forgot we could use color and everything was black and white, and then we remembered that we did have color, but so many 1970s color movies were garbage...
