Re: 9mm vs 45acp
I too use to be a "45 Junkie" but over the years I mellowed and accepted the 9x19mm as a viable caliber for defense. It was the Ballistic Jell test that we did that really opened my eyes to the fact that any reasonably power handgun cartridge like the 9x19mm, 40S&W or 45acp will all wo...

Re: 9mm vs 45acp
A buddy of mine and I settled this a couple years ago. He likes to play with ballistic jell and brought a block over for us to shoot. Me with my then Glock G30 and a Gold Dot 230gr HP and him with his Glock G19 and a Gold Dot 124gr +p HP. We figured since both guns were similar in barrel length it'd...

Re: AR Build On Hold. Need some advice/options.
To add to the above. You never know when a Terrorist Cyber Attack will take out the power grid or shut down the watter supply or ???? and folks with less morals and ethics will take to the streets looking for stuff from those of us who will be prepared for such an event. I just think people need to ...

You can always build a small trailer for that gun and tow it behind your truck when you go someplace.

Re: AR Build On Hold. Need some advice/options.
What EXACTLY do you want out of your next firearm purchase. I see you keep mentioning home defense. Is SHTF in your consideration? Hunting? Living semi-Rural here in Tennessee I'm reasonably happy with my Glock G26 doing double duty as my CCW and Home Defense gun but we're moving to AZ.(probably Av...

Re: State of the Union Address!
I listened to the SOTU last night and all I heard was "Blah, Blah, Blah, Lie, Blah, Blah, Half Truth, Blah, Blah, Misinformation, Blah, Lie, Half Truth, Blah, Lie. Blah, Blah, Blah. I'll be Soooooo glad when Obama is out of Office and we can hopefully get a proper Conservative into the White Ho...

Re: cover garment for ccw
I'd go with 2" larger pants and a VERY GOOD IWB holster. That way you only have to worry about the part of the gun sticking out of your waste band.

Re: Man shoots Machete Wielding Maniac who breaks down his door
Yep, sad fact is that if you want to be "Court Proof" you can't say that you shot the SOB to kill him, you only shot him to "stop" him from doing harm to you. If it ends up that he died, well, I guess he should have though twice before he attacked you but such is life.

Re: Hypothetically...
Seems like the ammo manufactures would try to get behind a bill to repeal the Hughes Amendment. Think of all the money they could make in ammo sales if more folks owned full auto.
