Re: CZ 527 Scope

The NightForce SHV 3-10/42 is on mine. There are a couple of choices in reticles, I have a MOAR non illuminated on mine, but you can get an illuminated MOAR, or a ForcePlex, which is a duplex style. I got the MOAR version because I can use the reticle to zero the supers at 100 yards, and then figure...

Re: Neck Turning Tools

Ditto on the Forster. Also very nice people to deal with if you need something custom.

Re: Hornady 208gr ELD-M over IMR4227 - Sub Round 1

The Lyman was probably made by Ohaus, which is based in NJ, and made most of the beam scales for RCBS and other reloading suppliers. Glad things are working out.

Re: CZ527 - New Dedicated 300BO magazine

Yes, I read your post on doing so, and I did the same to mine (without the tooth paste), and though it has smoothed out, it still binds worse than any Mauser that I own. It is especially bad when trying to operate the bolt from the shoulder in a rapid fashion. If this were a dangerous game rifle it ...

Re: CZ527 - New Dedicated 300BO magazine

I recently purchased a CZ 527 in 300 AAC and after having had it for a month or two, have some issues with it, the first being the magazine. Actually the magazine is tied for first with the bolt binding. IRT the magazine, it is labeled 300 AAC, so I believe was made specifically for it. I do not hav...

Re: .30-30 bullets in supersonic loads

Thanks for all the replies. I have both the 160 FTX's and the 125 Sierra's on hand, so will give them a try. Are 1 Gallon milk jugs filled with water a good representation on what expansion will be? I have a ton of those as well, and was wondering if it was worth my time to check expansion via this ...

Re: .30-30 bullets in supersonic loads

Thanks for the reply. I'm using two rifles, a CZ 527, and a Spikes Tactical upper on a Rock River lower. I was going to use the CZ for hunting, as the lighter subs probably won't operate the Spikes upper. I like the ability to take both deer and smaller game with the same rifle. I have a NF scope wi...

.30-30 bullets in supersonic loads

I'm a new member here, and new to the 300 AAC. I have done some handloading for the cartridge over the last few weeks, working primarily on subs with mixed success in keeping them under supersonic velocities using TrailBoss powder. I'm finding it pretty accurate so far. I do have a question though. ...

Re: Hornady 208gr ELD-M over IMR4227 - Sub Round 1

I have a both RCBS 510 and the RCBS 1010 mechanical beam style, which have been replaced by the M500 and the M1000 currently. I also have an RCBS Rangemaster 2000 electronic, which I don't use very much because it is too sensitive to stray breezes. The 1010 is my go to scale, and it is accurate to w...
