why would you not recommend a carbine gas system on a barrel under 14.5? Do you know of any piston systems that will work on a pistol length gas system with a low pro gas block?

Does anyone make a 10 to 13 inch barrel with a carbine gas system for the 300blk? I was hoping to build an upper with a noveske 10" and an osprey defense gas piston system but osprey does not make a pistol length system so unless i can find a short barrel with a carbine system i am not going to...
