Don't use thick walled brass.
Get the slotted gauge and use it
And you'll be good

I run plain dino Castrol GTX in my Acura.
Change it every 6000 or so.
Motor at 426,000 miles and runs strong

I use 16 grains H110 under 150 grain bullets
Hodgdon shows a starting load of 15.7 and a max of 18.5 gr.
Seems a little weak to me, try boosting the charge

You cannot make BP cannons fire with reduced loads.
They just go fwup.
FFG will work fine, increase load until it goes BOOM
