Precisely. My mags are also marked but I also go as far as never having .223/5.56 and 300BLK out at the same time. I try to never even shoot them at the range on the same day. It's like having 20 gauge and 12 gauge in the same shotgun vest.

Hank55, let's back up... Are your bullets FMJ (full metal jacket, meaning a copper jacket with lead inside) and coated, or are they lead, no jacket, but coated? I guess I don't understand why you'd need to be subsonic to put the can on. Clearly I'm missing something. I would be more concerned about bullet stability before adding the can. If you mean so that you can hear the supersonic crack or not, again bullet stability is what I'd want. A chrono' is best ...
