Re: Hornady Sub-X 190
Winchester also has a subsonic Super-X. Surprisingly, it will come in 308 Win. as well as 300blk. The 308 is 185 gr. and 300blk will be 200 gr. I have a couple boxes of the 308 on hand. I've not been able to find the 300blk in stock anywhere. The 308 shot a respectable 3/8" group at 50 yds. Hav...

Re: Brass bulging after being loaded
I've crushed a few cases with the Hornady dies. Try backing off a 1/4 turn, and try them. Sounds like the die is set too deep. Also, I think the floating sleeve in the
Hornady dies gets randomly crossed up. I try to buy the "best" dies I can afford.

Re: Disappointing Results--Rainier Ballistics 180gr HP
1. Change powders 2. Change bullets 3. Live happily ever after. Honestly the first step will be to change powders. CFE just does not seem to work worth spit until it's compressed. That bullet does not have a long enough bearing surface to touch the powder and you can't add enough filler to hold it ...

Re: Nosler 30 Caliber 220 Grain Ballistic Tip RN-BLACKOUT
Looks like the results I had. I tried N120, Lil Gun, and 1680 in an AR, and those plus 3N38 in a 700. Both have 1-7 twist. OAL was 2.26 down to 2.005. Never did make friends with them. The remaining have been banished to the same dark corner with the Rainier 180s.

Re: 300blk subsonic loads
I've heard of a company called Aussie Copper Projectiles.
Don't know anything about them, but they do list some expanding subsonic bullets on their website. They may be a bit easier to get in your area.
Cheers

I have the first version of the Strike Eagle, and love it. The 1-4 pst is also an excellent choice. If you are on a budget, stick with a second focal plane, although ffp scopes are worth the money imho.

Re: Nosler 30 Caliber 220 Grain Ballistic Tip RN-BLACKOUT
I tried these yesterday in 3 different guns, and had some stability issues. Using Trail Boss in a 1-8 Rem. 308, and Lil Gun in the AR (14.5",1-7), and Rem. 300blk with 1-7 McGowen bbl. At subsonic speeds, they keyholed at 65 yds. in all three. I pushed the bolt guns to 1200 fps, and while not k...

Re: Nosler 30 Caliber 220 Grain Ballistic Tip RN-BLACKOUT
I got 150 of these in yesterday, and will be testing tomorrow. Mostly will be for my two bolt guns ( 300blk and 308 subsonic) with Unique and Trail Boss. If time allows, I'll run some through the AR with Lil Gun, and try to get some accuracy results. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to check for ...
