Don't know if I agree with needing a 125 version as there are 110 and 120 Barnes. Yeah, more selection but the 150 offers something else from the Barnes. At the muzzle, the Barnes has more muzzle energy but thats not the whole story. I bet the 150s retain that energy further, drift less in the wind ...

In those pics, even without the BT, its obvious that's not the 150 GD...at least the 300 AAC one as Speer makes a 308 GD ammo with 150 ...

So what did you guys settle on for A1680? Obviously I'll be starting a few grains less and work up.

Any updates on this bullet? More load confirmation? More hunting kills? Dellet, you're using A1680 for your load, is that right? We can go to PM if you don't want to put it here. Lastly, does anyone know if the Federal Fusion 150 grain uses this 150 GD bullet? Looks similar and Federal loads several...

Actually, I'll read the whole 150 GD thread and then send a PM with questions.

I have not tried any of the newer HTP so really have no idea. The Speer 150 in my 12.5” bolt action is 2180 fps and about 3/4” at 200 yards. I would probably trust it to 250-300 yards hunting. Past that I would want to shoot a bunch more at 1500 fps to see how they perform and verify drops. 300 yar...

I thought about the 150 Speer Gold Dot but it needs a 16" barrel to provide the velocity just to expand at 200 yards. Not that I envision actualnling range shooting but uve only got a 14.7" barrel. The 120 TacTX and 130 TSX both expand at lower velocities which will be great for my barrel ...

I've typed this out multiple times and it finally posted. I know the HTP has the BT but is the Hog Ham.er the FB? If you had to chose a bullet that's factory loaded as well as had the ability to handload, would you take this stuff, the Hog Hammer, or the Barnes VorTX 120 gr? I ask about these weight...
