Re: New Lee 155gr
I had posted about getting a newer 155 mold. And it was obviously different. I like the older 155 design because i can load it longer. I like the CTL-160. It works well in a variety of my rifles, and I seat it "long" in my 300BLK. Instead of using the crimp groove, I'm seating it out a li...

Re: New Lee 155gr
I have both the CTL-312-160-2R and the older version C312-155-2R, actually, a couple of both. My CTLs weigh 160gr, and the conventionally grooved version weighs 160 w/GC. Its quite apparent from your photos that the "new 155" has a different ogive than the old, and more akin to the origina...

Re: Looking for a good supersonic mold
Jailer, isn't that basically the same as the ctl312-160-2r mold but with standard lube grooves? Are you having to seat yours deep like the one I have? GDS posted that the 155 has been changed, so the nose is similar to the 160, and has to be seated deep. My 155gr mold is an older one though, and I ...

Re: Help me choose my first mold.
a couple o' comments on the "custom mould" makers..... Tom at Accurate is limiting meplat diameter to .18" minimum, and I believe the same to be true of Mountain Molds. MM has a website where you can design your own with his online software. I've done it several times and got what I a...

Re: Looking for Recommendation on Dies for 300 Blackout
RCBS small base dies with taper crimp. I'm shooting cast exclusively and think the taper crimp the better choice for cast.

Re: Looking for a good supersonic mold
The Lyman 311672 has a smaller diameter nose than the Lee designs. The C312-155-2R has a slimmer ogive than the CTL-312-160-2R. I have a couple of each. Seated to 2.060", the CTL312-160-2R sized .311" doesn't give me any issues, and this is seated out past the crimp groove, taper crimped b...

Re: Just purchased my first 300 case trimming question
If you have a bandsaw you could make a jig, cut to length with the bandsaw. Size, and then trim with a Lee trimmer with a cordless drill.

Re: Looking for a good supersonic mold
Lyman 311672 which weighs ~165gr w/GC and lube. I taper crimp into the driving band below the top lube groove and leave that groove free of lube.

Re: Advice on buy list needed
Personally, I don't like the Lee FCD. I much prefer a taper crimp. Don't think I am being insulting, but any particular reason? I ask because I don't recall anyone else saying this in regards to the 300blk. I prefer the Lee FCD, but then again I use a lot of lee products. OP. I kind of do the same ...
