To be non-NFA it has to have a 16" barrel.

Or you can build a pistol with a shorter barrel, but be careful of putting a vertical fore grip on it, that could well turn it into a AOW.


My advice? Build a pistol with a 12" barrel and a 2" muzzle device. Just forget about the VFG.

I picked up a 10.5" Bear Creek 300 BO barrel and built a new upper.

My plain based cast bullets are shooting quite well in it. They also shoot quite well in my RAR bolt gun. I guess that 7.5" barrel just didn't like cast bullets.

I always use dedicated 300 BO mags for 300 BO.

I picked up some of the metal D&H mags.

This RAR is a keeper.

I was surprised how light the recoil was.
