Re: .224 CALIBER Tracer Bullets
Sounds like you got M856 heads, a really reliable tracer. The Nam era 55gr M196 are notorious for not lighting due to their age by now. I load M856 up over about 17gr of IMR 4198 in 223. Thats a low charge but since they're for entertainment only, I reduce the charge to save a bit of powder (I load ...

Re: New Blackout Company. Ammo and Brass.
Got 100 rounds of 300 blackout & 7.62x51 subs. First impression: the quality of these rounds are top notch, very good looking. Had just a minute to go out plinking the other night. Guns were: AAC micro seven & a Spanish FR8 Mauser both with my YHM Phantom. The 7.62x51 stabilized just fine in...

Re: Multi caliber powder use
I've had great luck with IMR 4198 in 5.56. I've also seen data for 4198 in blackout but have never tried it before. As a previous poster said, trying to consolidate powders can be an attempt in futility & dissapointing. I tried it myself only to have poor loads. Get a few pounds of whatever you ...

Re: Rilfe powder for long barrels
New stuff all the time, there is no reason that you can't get 2050 fps out of a 16" barrel, manufacturers just don't. Bullets are developing faster than powders for the cartridge, so best performance is custom loads. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/415985/winchester-deer-season-xp-ammunition-...

Re: Barnes 120 grain Tac-Tx finally available to reload
Yeah I'm curious as to how these would shoot at higher velocities in bigger 30 calibers. Anyone know if they could handle 27-2800 fps?
