Re: SBR 300 BO
I don't have a specific question. My general question was spurned more out of curiosity than anything else. I'm just getting into the 300 BLK and trying to absorb all the information I can on it. I've read many posts on this forum, and the thing that I seem to see most often are posts from guys that...

Re: SBR 300 BO
OK, I'll bite. Since most people don't have the problems that you mention, I assume that something is wrong. But I will also note that since you specifically mentioned 800 feet per second in the OP, that may be some of why the gun isn't: feeding, extraction, ejection, cycling the action, etc and al...

Re: Primer Of Choice
My experience has been pretty much limited to Winchester and Federal. The Winchesters were always reliable in semi-auto hand guns and my shooting buddies and I went through thousands of Federal because the cup was soft and we could get 6lb DA triggers on our Smith revolvers. It made for a great pin ...

SBR 300 BO
I'm trying to wrap around the enchantment of struggling with feeding, extraction, ejection, cycling the action, etc and all of the other ills associated with getting this platform to run.
If you wanted to push a 200 grain bullet at 800-900FPS why not just do it with a .45ACP in a 1911?

Re: Primer Of Choice
I'll probably start out with a few of the Wolf 223Rem and see how they do. I'd like to use those since I have around 3K of them.
What about Small Pistol Magnum. Seems like they would be similar to small rifle.

Primer Of Choice
What is the primer of choice for the 300 BO loads? I'm assuming that given the volume of powder the cases hold it would take a small rifle magnum or in the case of Winchester, just the Small Rifle. I also have a supply of Wolf 233Rem. I'm just thinking the magnum primers since the pretty much go to ...

Re: brassmaking challenges- neck diameter
Howdy, I have made several hundred pieces of brass from misc .223/556 range brass. I loaded up ~60 rds of 300 BLK and went to the range but was unpleasantly surprised when ~50% of my brass wouldnt load completely into my AR. Upon closer inspection, my neck diameters (on loaded ammo) was running ~0....

Re: brassmaking challenges- neck diameter
There is a sticky on what brass is good and bad for 300BLK case making. That would be a good place to start. Also measuring neck thickness on suspect brass.
