Re: 300BLK ammo for personal defense?
.....I typically interpret "HD" to mean an intruder is already within the walls of your abode..... with that perspective I'd most likely opt of a varmint type bullet, especially if used in a short barrel. The rationale I use is if I did use a short 300BLK inside the abode, at the confronta...

Re: need help with small base dies
The difference is that the way trenorio does it there is a purpose and result. Formed brass will relax a bit after forming. So double striking at 180 degrees in the same die at the same time will have less effect than two single strikes in two different dies. Possibly why he has better results with...

Re: need help with small base dies
That's an awful lot of steps. I enjoy reloading but not that much. I'm wondering why you size twice. That's working the brass when you don't need to. My process is a lot simpler. .... it works for me with the equipment I have, especially when I do it in bulk mode of at least 100 cases a session. In...

Re: need help with small base dies
I'm forming 300blk brass and using rcbs SB dies. ive discovered through 2 stuck cases that I cannot use normal lube. I ordered redding imperial die wax and now I need to know hows the best way to apply it. I'm only used to spray lube in a bag and shaking it around. thanks If you get the small tin c...

wow, that barrel looks like a good candidate for some kind of coating after you get it cleaned up!! ....even if its something as simple as some automotive engine VHT spray can paint or a BBQ kettle VHT spray can paint

Re: Where should I start?
....as you are "starting out", I would recommend you start with the Speer TNT's in 125gn; VERY GOOD pricing and available in 500 Bulk Qty (check Graf's), a well proven projectile that works well with both of your stated powders, H110 & 4227. Lots of load data readily available from the...

Re: 224 Valkyrie
....the 224V really piqued my interest, to the point I was ready to commit to a build with it. The thought of just a barrel, bolt and magazine purchase makes for a pretty enticing "economic savings". My only concern was that current barrel offerings were mostly 1:7 (existing .223/5.56 stoc...

Re: Battle-Bar reviews?
Mega ambi lower. Sure, it costs more than an Anderson or PSA lower plus the BAD or even the Battle-bar, but they're machined to perfection and that's worth something to me. And there's nothing extra on the side of the rifle or in the trigger guard where it doesn't belong.
