I think if you put a small pile of black powder on the ground, and light it with a fuse, it won't make a boom. No boom, no explosion. Does it really burn faster than a fast pistol powder?

China has a cheap cost structure - so they are optimized for manufacturing. US is optimized for other stuff. We put a 70% tariff on Chinese solar panels so that they don't kill the US industry, but I sort of want solar panels for much cheaper. It would benefit the US-based installation companies and...

I am libertarian and I think we are supposed to be for non-protectionist trade.
Also, the fact that people can buy cheap Chinese products at Walmart allows their paycheck to go much further. Spending less is even better than earning more, as it is post-taxed money.

I wouldn't. Too much trouble and cost, and you would have to use non-standard threads.
