Re: Pistol lower maybe???
Not all dealers do this. I have talked to a few who said they ALWAYS mark a stripped AR15 lower as a rifle. Dolomite Then they are doing it wrong. And it's serious because a receiver is not a shotgun or rifle so it can't be transferred to under 21. The 4473 was updated to make it more clear to FFL'...

Re: Pistol lower maybe???
Unless it was built up as a pistol is should also transfer as "Other, receiver".

Re: Exotic Setups
We see problems with extra power springs. A carbine gas 16" should run an H max, or carbine buffer for better subsonic function without a silencer. Going with a standard spring and carbine buffer, or the manufacturers recommended setup is definitely a good way to avoid possible problems from th...

Re: Cutting down 300 blk barrel possible?
The gas port will need to be larger, and not as many gunsmiths know anything about gas port sizes for the 300 BLK.

Re: Exotic Setups
Heavy buffers do a much better job of actually buffering than the cheaper carbine buffer. (Tungsten weights cost money) I don't care for extra power springs at all, but prefer a buffer heavier than carbine. The thing is that the barrel must be designed for the heavier buffer, so you should find out ...

Re: Pistol lower maybe???
A receiver is a receiver, not a rifle or pistol.
It should have been transferred as "Other, Receiver", so have the dealer check the 4473.

Re: Help diagnose my problem
I've seen the rings a few times before. It comes from the bullet, it must be shaved off as the base of the bullet is forced into the rifling. For the trigger, it's the reset that could be a problem. It can happen because of a disconnector or disconnector spring problem. I also know of lighter trigge...

Re: Handload problem or short barrel problem?
I think I may be able to use higher charges than even those recommended for 8 or 9 inch barrels. You can load up slightly higher for the shorter barrel and stay subsonic. I'd reduce the time/effort and just do it with A1680, I think it's you best chance to get it running. If a 6.5" barrel won'...

Re: Help diagnose my problem
I would start with a function check of the lower. The bolt carrier should cock the hammer before it goes back far enough to pick up another round from the mag. I think the hammer may be following the bolt forward.
What trigger do you have?
We also do not recommend any extra power action springs.

Re: Hornady 300 BLK
does anyone have knowledge/experience with their 208gr AMAX subsonics in 300 Whisper? Does it expand worth a hoot and could you hunt game with it? No regular 30 cal bullet that I know of will expand at subsonic velocity. People do hunt with subsonic loads and the long bullets do tumble reliably. On...
