Re: Wilson Combat bad-mouthing the 300 Blk

Satern via Brownells instead. Plus, with Brownells lifetime returns I can always get a new bolt if I manage to break the lugs. Barrel showed up today - looks pretty darn nice so far! If the Satern powder funnels I have are any indication of their overall product, it should shoot lights out. Everybo...

Re: Wilson Combat bad-mouthing the 300 Blk

buying a barrel that cost more than $89 and then tuning a load to said barrel also generally overcome's any inaccuracy issues 300blk might have.

High end barrel with factory Barnes black tips can shoot 1/2 MOA.

Re: Brass Coating

I do nothing special to keep brass from oxidizing after wet stainless tumbling with dawn and lemi-shine. 3-4 rinses(always finish with cold water), media separator to spin water off, dry towel and roll like a bowling ball, then into a second dry towel to finish drying on with a fan. IF you leave bra...

Re: Nothing quiet w/ 8.5" suppressed...?

load em deeper and use less powder. Less powder usually means less noise, although you are really only talking MAYBE .5g difference so the sound difference wont be that much.

2.120 for those bullets.

Try 10.7g of A1680.

Re: Barnes Blacktip Maximum Speed (Specs?)

We all wanted a bullet that would preform at blk velocities... We begged, pleaded and PAID top dollar to get them. Now Barnes (For a while now) builds a purpose built bullet. One that expands and preforms @ 1300-2500 fps. PERFECT for the 300 Whisper/Blackout. W T F do we now need to push this bulle...

Re: Barnes Blacktip Maximum Speed (Specs?)

Dont they open down to 1300fps?

With a 3400fps muzzle velocity you would be able to make reliable, expanding, kill shots at 700 yards...

Re: FTF Before Firing

what ammo are you running? How far are you pulling the charging handle? The front of the lugs on the bolt is what should be pushing the base of the case forward. If the carrier is what is pushing on the case, you have an issue with either operator error or something like your buffer or spring is to ...

Re: Seating bullets real deep into powder charge (non-300 Blk)

hook a string to the trigger... stand back 15 foot... yank string... hope gun doesnt blow up... But seriously. You are talking compressed charges basically. IMO there is probably no need to run compressed charges depending on what your goal is. Cycle a semi auto while subsonic? just stay subsonic in...

Re: Single shot subsonic 150gr load, using H110?

9g will be high IMO. I load 9.1g of H110 with a 208g AMAX for my 16" Rem 700 bolt gun load. Dont know the speed, never chrono'd it, but its quiet as all get out and was the most accurate load when I worked down from 10g. I would think closer to 7 or 8 personally. As far as your other question a...
