Re: Help me love the 300BLK
And if we're talking about a 16" carbine, I think the 5.56mm has advantages over the 300 BLK (heresy! burn the heretic!), in terms of trajectory and time-to-target. For me---and I could be a loon for thinking this way, but if so, well a loon I am----the 300 BLK shines as a SBR around the 9-10&...

Re: Help me love the 300BLK
If light cleaning is driving your requirement, why not put up the Barrett and use the proceeds to buy a PWS Mk 109 upper? PWS is one of the best piston OEMs in the AR market. As long as you're running unsuppressed, cleaning is a breeze.

Re: Ice Skating uphill.......
like Ruger and S&W endorsing the AWB Ugh. I had no clue. I've got an SR-22 and an M&P15-22 in my safe and consider(ed?) myself a Ruger fan. Quick web search isn't turning up much but there is a lot of static on the net... is there a good link to the reporting? Not trying to dispute, ...

Re: 338 Blackout
According to the interviews, they say the decision to use the Creedmoor name is what drove the use of 8.6, to match the other metric Creedmoor cartridges. So we can at least explain that part.10Driver wrote:Like the OP, I gotta wonder why they went with 8.6 and Creedmoor.

338 Blackout
Oops... I meant 8.6mm Creedmoor! TFB has a couple interviews posted recently: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/08/20/tfb-exclusive-8-6-creedmoor/ https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/08/21/discreet-ballistics-8-6-creedmoor ...in which they speculate on the degree to which 300BL...

Re: Load Catalog: Subsonic, All other Powders and Bullets
Got a great deal on some Nosler 210gr Reduced Drag Factor blems from Shooter's Pro Shop. Thought they might make a great subsonic plinker now that the 208gr A-max is gone. Here's the initial test set I shot today (82F 82% humidity sea level) Rifle: PWS Mk 109 Barrel: 9" 1:8" Action: Piston...

Re: Handloading Basic and Advanced Chapter 2
Thanks to rebel's generosity I got my hands on the proper tools (namely, that .350 bushing) and did some measurements on my GCG brass acquired through this forum. GCG: 1.067" SD: 0.001 My fire-formed brass (PWS Mk116 AR) measured 1.079" with a SD too small to be significant, meaning an out...
