Re: Deer ammo

There is a Speer 150 gr Gold Dot bullet that has received great reviews. Sadly for those of us who don’t roll our own, it is available only as a bullet and not as loaded ammo. Apparently that's about to change. Several places are showing Speer Personal Protection ammo loaded with that bullet. Of co...

I wonder if seating depth matters

 https://i.imgur.com/TpVd341.jpg This was my American 30 AR, essentially a 6.8 SPC blown out to .30. Amazing what a difference .010" can make. Shooting the same bullet in a 300 BLK CVA pistol (no pics), five shot groups varied from 1 1/2" to less than a half inch over a .025"...

Re: Pistol gas subs, various bullets & powders, updated pg 6&7

What I have on hand: 220gr Interlocks Lil'Gun & 4227 powders Once-fired brass From the chart on page 7, it looks like 8.2 of lil'gun would do well for my setup, at least for starters? The OAL is perhaps the kicker, given the round nose of the interlock. Probably not. That data is with a slightl...

Re: Low load density 110 sub loads

Check out this thread ...lots of low density loads including N320 on the first page. I've used N340 and 125 grain bullets with decent results. In my opinion, the two biggest issues are the opportunity to double charge a round and the possibility of sticking a bullet in the barrel. Start high and wor...

Re: Costly mistake with an AR Pistol Rig

Thanks for the reminder. This is a huge potential for those that tuck the suppressor inside the hand guard. I dont understand the potential for injury for this case of a suppressor tucked inside the forearm. Would someone please tell me about it? In the OP's case, with a 7.5 inch .223, the gas pres...

Can you explain what these numbers mean? If we're talking about a 300 blackout, a .335 diameter bullet could be a problem.

Re: Winchester 296 for Subs?

... it is easy to exceed maximum pressure levels with reduced charge load but don't understand why? Likely what you're referring to is something called "flashover" or Secondary Explosion Effect (SEE). These are not the same thing but are often used interchangeably. The idea is that a redu...

Re: DeadAir Keymo/Nomad Ti problem

Or...toss the adapter and [gasp!] direct thread to the barrel. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I've never seen the need to spend a few hundred dollars to add weight, length, complexity, and more opportunity for something to go wrong.
