Since you have a 16" barrel and carbine gas you can't over-gas the system (rsilvers stated this). Go ahead and open the gas port to .12 (1/8 inch) and make sure your BCG is nice and wet lubed.

Re: Newb question re case prep/reloading w/ progressive pres
I would recommend you start with factory Remington brass or buy some from one of the guys that does the conversion. If you get the brass conversion wrong your reloading may go bad--there's just too many things that can go wrong when you're learning. Reload the new brass and see how it functions for ...

Re: Rem 700 300 blk
It seems like a lot of people are having feeding issues with their .223 conversion bolt rifles. Maybe this is what Remington is working on.

Re: First timer problem !!!!
Check under the extractor to make sure there is an O-ring around the extractor spring...gives extra power to the extractor spring resulting in a better bite on the case by the extractor. If no O-ring, go to Lowes or Home Depot or hardware store and buy a pack of #60 O-rings. Place O-ring around the...

Re: 338 Federal AR
I ordered a Savage Hog Hunter in 338 Win Mag (as pictured above) for $464 delivered. I ordered a full length Picatinny rail for it for $49. Now I've got to get going on a .338 can. I'm leaning toward the YHM Phantom in .338.

Re: Mod to ar in 300 blkout to hunt in pa
I was going to buy another bolt carrier group to use in al my ar's for .223 and 300 and drill out the back of gas key, just wanted to know if I would get hurt doing it that way. I wouldn't recommend it but if you do try it make sure you wear eye protection. You could have a great deal of gas shoot ...

Re: subs no can
I see no problem shooting subs without a can just to learn how to shoot them at distance and get used to subsonic ballistics. Some do this while waiting for their can. The noise level is low enough to go without ear plugs too. TrailBoss works pretty good with 90gr XTP subsonic plinking round out of ...
