Re: How big is to big???

You'll be just fine with a 110gr.
110gr V max are my go to load and they've killed near 100 red deer. Big heavy stags, hinds, fawns all don't often take another step. 300m is about as far as I sling them on deer now, that's my comfort killing distance. Any further I pull out the .308.

Re: Out there doing it still

Been hammering the hills hard for 2 4 day weekends running now. Heard plenty of stags. Even stalked and roared in one to 20m. Had my 9 year old daughter with me for that. She was shaking with adrenalin after that big fella going nutts so close. She come with me Saturday for another walk in the spot ...

Re: My shortest roar/rut ever and a new first

great hunt! too bad about the knee. why the first on shooting a Chamois with subs? are the shots usually too far? In Austria where they originated from the 243 is the smallest caliber allowed to be used and here in New Zealand most hunters use large caliber rifles for distance and kinetic energy. A...

  wow, that barrel looks like a good candidate for some kind of coating after you get it cleaned up!! ....even if its something as simple as some automotive engine VHT spray can paint or a BBQ kettle VHT spray can paint   I was impressed. All that junk and blood wiped cl...

Re: Out there doing it still

Dam that’s a big print. No way I would be up there with a bolt action. Nice pics of the country. I want to go on a hog hunt some day. Another back surgery coming up so maybe next year head down to Texas or Florida. Have my 300BO set up with my thermal so a night shoot would be fun. I'm thinking abo...

Out there doing it still

http://i65.tinypic.com/fxqtco.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/zwktv7.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/256fcrk.jpg We've been out doing some pre roar (rutt) scouting. The difference is we can hunt while doing it. The ridge is high enough you can see most of the Southland plains, all the way to the coast and 1 ...

Re: Youtube

I seen that some are taking their content to PornHub. It's big enough to handle the back catalogs at least in the short term. They might be big enough to go main stream and put up a reasonable fight against YT I'm not sure going to a porno site is a good idea, it seems gun owners are already gettin...

Re: Newbie from the West country england

So results were extraordinary accurate at 5m,all through the dame hole in fact, but were hard to extract, i was using Australian munitions cases, has anybody had any probs with these? I would doubt they send Australian munitions to the states. I've never heard of them and we get most of the Aussie ...
