Per Lee, their 300 Blackout sizing die is not meant for forming Blackout brass. FWIW, I use an old set of Redding dies. To form Blackout brass I have to have the die screwed down a half turn more than when simply full length resizing.

Re: Which RARR?
I took a rotary mag and measured inside. The one I measured was about 2.29" inside. I am speculating that being made of plastic, each mag might differ a little. Since I use some of the same loads in different rifles, I load my Blackout OAL to 2.26 or less, depending upon the bullet. Loading to ...

Re: Kinetic limitations
It's not so much the bullet weight, but the construction and design in my opinion and experience. For years I used the Nosler 125gr Ballistic Tip, but I had a failure to penetrate deep enough on my largest hog with that bullet (never a failure on deer to penetrate deep). It expanded fine, just didn'...

Re: Processed brass question or issue
When I was more of a beginner at loading the Blackout, I'd buy "fully processed, ready to load" brass from whomever offered it the cheapest. I found some had to be full length sized, some needed deburring of the case mouth, some was under length, some had the shoulder pushed back, some in ...

Re: What are the symptoms of over gassing?
Some of my Blackouts have adjustable gas blocks. On one of them I instantly knew it was over gassed the first shot. The recoil was noticeably sharper and the empty flew about 3 times as far as normal. I had forgotten to readjust the gas block when I went from a mild load (108gr bullet at 1700fps) to...

Might have to seat bullet a little deeper so it does not jam in the throat of the bore is not worn much.

Re: Ruger SR556 takedown w/ optional .300bo barrel
I've had the Takedown for around a year in 5.56. It took me a lot of experimenting until I found a handload that would do 1.5" at 100yd (everything else was around 3" or worse). I thought that one day I'd get the Blackout conversion kit. Easy to get, after all, multiple places on the Inter...
