Re: Reading Wind

Well hell, what happened rebel? I was able to sneak out on my one day off this week and got my butt kicked by the wind too. Trying to read the mirage was near impossible for me by 1300 as there was enough of it that I could just barely make out the target. I'm still a rookie when it comes to accurat...

Now that biscuit does look pretty good but I could really go for some of that hill country apple butter. Nice job rebel!

Re: When Evil calls too close to home, MHP Trooper shot and killed

Surprised the perp made it to the jailhouse, shows a lot of constraint by the arresting officers. Should be an easy trial with no option other than the death penalty but I'm sure lawyers will drag it out and keep this guy alive on our dime. Really hate to read these stories. Years ago, probably 15 o...

Re: To You Guys Who Anneal With Tempilaq

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CXMLIL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is the one I used. I used my dremel and cut hole for it on the front panel left of the speed controller. Wiring is simple with no splices necessary since the motor power supply has screw terminals...

Re: To You Guys Who Anneal With Tempilaq

I have a DYI annealer so the process is a little different. Mine has digital indicators for the speed settings which you won't have. I write down the settings for each cartridge type on a cheat-sheet and it makes set up the next time go faster. This is a great sub $10 20 minute mod for an annealeez...

Re: Prefered handgun.

I can get in line with the 1911 guys, it’s just too hot down here most of the year for me to comfortably carry my commander model. My go to carry that’s on my waist most days is my trusty Ruger sr9c. It’s simple, carries 10+1, and has shit’n’git with everything I’ve ever fed her. She shows her age a...

Re: When developing loads do you...

I start by checking function if it’s a AR, which is also velocity. So I will work velocity down to around 950 fps. Then look for a load with the lowest ES around 1000 fps and tune that for accuracy. Generally something between 950-1025 works out with any barrel/bullet combination. There are many wa...

Re: 300 Blackout 190gr Sub-X® Subsonic - reliable and proven Subsonic round for Deer?

I've put three 200gn makers into deer and put three deer into the freezer from 10yds out to 100yds. These are just my personal results and I ensure I have great shots when sub hunting. There are also a few others on the forum that have done well with them.

Re: 300 Blackout 190gr Sub-X® Subsonic - reliable and proven Subsonic round for Deer?

Proven? I don't think I've seen anyone using it here for dear yet but there's been some testing threads. Here's one http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=101736 Personally I only have subsonic hunting experience with the maker bullets, specifically the 200gn rex. They sell loaded...
