Re: Rebel silencers

No first hand experience. I've emailed with them. I'm probably not the only one, but I think I persuaded them to put a steel or SS insert for the threads. At any rate, after a few emails, their design changed. This shows me that they are responsive to customer input. I plan to buy at least one of th...

Re: Cast bullets in ruger 300 bo

I ended up going with the mihec 308 hunting bullet. It's weighs right at 150gr and shot really good the first time out. I think I need to bump the charge up a little more. This group was shot at 100yds. 1" dot for reference. http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/glockky/IMG_0610.jpg This wa...

I got excited and drilled out the top of the mold to drive the pins. It's getting cut tonight, most likely. Perhaps with testing later this week. Here's a video of the first step of this project. I think I'll make a series of it and show the success or failure to the world. https://youtu.be/tNnRmDuF...

Th only thing that might be a problem is length and feeding. A lot people have tried and failed with various 30 Carbine bullets. Your's will be close to the same size, but probably a better nose shape. It will be interesting to see what you get. There might be a plated bullet closer to what you wil...

Thanks for going and checking.

Sounds to me like the .357 die is what I want.

It might be worth taking another look at the Crayola of death bullet if you are planning on doing a hardening process. I ran some that had sat for a year or so and age hardened as a sub load. I was getting reasonable groups at 75 yards from 1200 fps and down in a 1/5 twist. I never went faster. Tha...

Re: Cast bullets in ruger 300 bo

Weight is somewhat alloy dependent, but I use a Lyman #31141 (also known as 311041). My alloy, which is a little heavier that Lyman #2, drops them at 183 grains. I shoot them over 15.5grs IMR4227. As GunsFunZS said, this is a bullet designed for the 30-30/30WCF. I also shoot the Lee 155gr (160 with...
