Re: New to casting- problems but I think I have the solution

Have you looked at the cast boolits forum? http://castboolits.gunloads.com there is more info there than you can shake a stick at.

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?

I wonder if I could just call them and order it? I have off and on issues with mine feeding too. Right now I have aluminum tape in the mag well to make it tilt up at the front so I can get reliable feeding.

Re: Ruger American Ranch 300BLK - Magazine options?

Do you have a part number for that adapter? I would like to pick one up for my 300 blackout ranch rifle.

Re: The importance of headspace.

It is something I have seen shooting small bore IHMSA over the years, and with centerfire bolt guns if the cases have been sized too much you get bad groups. ARs I have to make sure they all are the same size, but small enough to feed no matter how fouled they get.

Re: Minimum loads. 125gr.

H110 and Winchester 296 should never be reduced! Reduced loads with those powders can and have detonated in the past. In short, reduced loads can be a pipe bomb waiting to happen with those powders. Other powders like 4227 you can get away with it to a small extent, but then you might stick a bulle...

Re: Cycling issues

I see you have all the heavy buffers, but do you have a standard carbine buffer? I haven't had to use a heavy buffer in my blackouts yet. I would try that and see what happens.

Re: Setting up handloading on Dillon 550

I have mine set up with a 30 carbine funnel as it will give a little flare for flat based bullets. Also works well for cast bullets.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK

M.S. gives 1850 avg for the GD in 18" 1:10 barrel - 19gr cfeblk. I find the GD with (evidently) softer jacket is not as accurate as the 150SPP from hornady. You might try about 3 more grains of powder if you're going to use CFE. I find 1/2-3/4 MOA more than adequate for a hunting bullet, are y...

Re: Subsonic 6 ft. impact

I finally found out what was causing the bullet to impact the burm so high... it was the muzzle device. The Griffin Armarment 30 SD when purchased comes with muzzle devices. https://www.silencershop.com/silencers/7-62mm-rifle/griffin-30sd-k.html unfortuntely for my new 300 blackout upper i chose to...
