Re: Subsonic Unsuppressed 300blk from 8.3" Barrel

Update: I have since solved my cycling issues by 1: slightly increasing powder charges, 2: replacing the buffer spring with a lightweight Sprinco "yellow" version, and 3: completely disassembling, cleaning out the gas port/tube (there was some red loctite in it!).

All three stabilized and no keyholes.
All three cycled and bolt held back.
All three subsonic
I wished I had time to check accuracy but was getting dark. No chrony so didn't get velocity.
How can you conclude they were subsonic if you didn't measure velocity?

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK

Ok, so, I have been playing with this bullet for a while now, and am just starting to get it figured out. However, it has raised a few questions. I am shooting RAR 16" rifle and getting excellant groups, 1 moa or better @100 yds, with, 20.0, 21.0, and 23.0 gns of CFE BLK. My only "issue&q...

Re: Anyone tried reloading the Noveske black brass from the glow tips?

I tried reloading this but was unhappy with the results. Upon the first sizing (full length), the black coating rubbed off the neck area so now the case looks "distressed". The nickel finish shows through the scratched up black coating. I guess it's fine if you don't care about the appeara...

What kind of accuracy are you getting?

Re: Shooters World Socom?

Re: Help me find something...

There used to be a link to a chart that a member(Dellet, or Certifiable, I think) had created showing lighter weight subs and powders and whether the combo cycled or not. I could've swore I saved it but can't find it, or the link, any longer. If anyone could post the link or send it in a pm, I'd re...

Re: Subsonic Unsuppressed 300blk from 8.3" Barrel

After today's trip to the range I am now up to a total of 21 recipe variations with the 220gr Hornady ELD-X....and I am pretty much "fed up" with it. I just recorded the best ES and StDev numbers of my reloading career (five different 5-rd loads all with ES <15 and StDev <10, one load was ...

Re: Subsonic Unsuppressed 300blk from 8.3" Barrel

What bullet are you using? The Amax/ELD are both very jump tolerant. The loads you posted, I would work the B/C load for the CFE. To keep compression the same I change seated depth .010" for every .10 grain of powder. So my C load would have been 110.0 @ 2.218". I think with that bullet p...

OK you got the first clue - posted 2015. Missed the second - 2 total posts. It is the reason that a lot of the old guard here are reluctant to waste time interacting with a new guys problems. Especially if he doesn't give a lot of details. Notice experienced folks asked questions and he replied onc...
