In looking at more and more pics online I definitely hope that a rail system that is as long as possible on the 9" barrel surfaces. IIRC the mount/can eats up 3/4" of barrel length (someone on another forum measured front of upper to rear of can on an 11.5" barrel as 10.75") so I...

I agree that going with non-standard barrels will mean having to re-calculate handguard needs. a 9.0" barrel kind of leaves you in an in-between spot with existing rails.

What is going to be available from AAC? What is the "optimal" length where improvement in performance (velocity?) starts to drop off? Typically we see that as we add 1" at a time we get substantial improvement up until a point where the improvement is incremental. The last length or t...
