Re: case life

Supers? 1-4 loads depending on how hot the load is. I have bulged cases during load development=1 reload! Subs? I had a batch of 100 I was testing that went 9 loads before they required trimming. I never felt like the primer pockets were loose either. I think by the time I trimmed those I only had l...

Re: Working outside the box. What CAN you do with 300 BLK

If I could afford to shoot any production quantity accuracy bullet I would be shooting nothing but Bergers or MAYBE Lapua Scenar-L's. All of the Bergers I have shot have been a superb bullet IMO. Now, like AP2020 is saying, nothing in a jacketed/lead core production bullet can probably come close to...

Re: Commercial #1 pistol powder

Yikes! That is pretty nasty stuff. How does it do when you shoot it? seems to shoot ok, just a bitch to load since its so dusty. I had to break the machine down every 1k-1.5k rounds to clean it. It wouldnt even advance it was getting that nasty. I loaded like 10k-12k rounds with it. Took WAY longer...

Re: Anyone tune barrel nut torque

IMO it doesnt matter. Ive built uppers with Noveske NSR rails that required 95 ft. lbs to line up(this was before they started including shims after they realized the design was not so great) that were crazy accurate. Ive built uppers at the low end to get a notch line up, high end, middle, etc... D...

Re: Commercial #1 pistol powder

Is this what is being or was being sold as CSB1? If so its NASTY to load. It either doesnt have an anti dust additive or hasnt been filtered well or something. This is after less than 1000 rounds loading 9mm. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v324/rjacobs1/0624152208.jpg Ive got 24 more pounds of it...

Re: Working outside the box. What CAN you do with 300 BLK

Ive always said the cartridge itself is awesome and just as accurate as anything else. HOWEVER people expect 147g pulls to shoot sub MOA out of an 89 dollar barrel with no load workup using iron sights. Sorry, that wont happen even with the most whiz bang cartridge out there. I spoke with a high end...

Re: possible 300 blackout body die?

Why do you want to do this?

I'm trying to think of a situation where you would want to size the body, but not touch the mouth or the neck.

Usually its the opposite that you want to size the mouth/neck and bump the shoulder slightly, but not touch the body.

Re: Cabelas selling to Bass Pro Shops

I hate bass pro shops... Their prices are ridiculous, some times higher than MSRP. Their stores suck. Their gun guys dont know anything about what they are selling.

Guess ill be buying online or small local places from now on.

5-7 years and they will be out of business like Sports Authority IMO.
